Founder and designer, Sofia Avila harmonizes modern ideas with inspirations brought from her childhood and the culture of her native country, El Salvador. After graduating from Parson's and interning for designers like Rosie Assoulin and Elie Tahari, Avila took a leap of faith to launch her label. By combining raw materials like reclaimed wood, metals, and natural stones, each piece in SOÜF's collections are completely unique and handmade by artisans based in El Salvador. The reclaimed wood used in her handbags is sourced from old columns and pillars from colonial houses in El Salvador that are being torn down. Each piece of wood is over 60 years old and has been repurposed into completely sustainable handbags.
