The prestigious silversmithing house TANE, Mexico’s premier luxury brand, has been producing the highest quality products since its founding in Mexico City in 1942.
The luxury brand was established in 1942 by Sergio and Natalia Leites. Eastern European immigrants and antique dealers, who fled Paris during the Second World War and settled in Mexico City.
In Mexico, they opened a specialist leather goods store that soon began to specialize in silver design and manufacturing. From then on, under the direction of their son Pedro Leites Vilner, TANE acquired cult status.
From the 1960s, TANE became a luxury stop-off for the likes of Jackie Kennedy, Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve, Maria Felix, Oscar de la Renta, Paul McCartney, Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria and international royalty.
Throughout its 75 years of life, TANE has been engaged not only in designing and producing works of art and jewelry, but also has founded three schools. Two in Mexico; the Tlalpujahua School in Michoacán and the Silver Center in Zacatecas, as well as one in France: the Ecole de Bijouterie et Orfèverie in Ploërmel (Brittany).
TANE has, over the past 75+ years, acquired a reputation for technical excellence and the quality of its products. All TANE pieces are produced in-house and by hand using age-old techniques combined with the latest innovations in all its production.
As Mexico’s only truly world-class luxury brand, TANE offers a wide variety of fine pieces ranging from jewelry to silverware and art pieces and, under the Casa TANE label other decorative objects for the home.
