We're falling head over heels for the newest intimate corner in Colonia Juarez.
Before moving to Mexico City and opening Café Cicatriz last February, Scarlett wrote about Mexican cuisine in New York while Jake photographed. Now the brother-sister duo work together as the perfect team: she oversees the menu using local ingredients while he takes care of beverages and cocktails.
The vibe is casual, open, breezy, and its soft lighting adds a touch to the local’s atmosphere. Open daily from 9am to 11pm, the bar serves as a coffee shop during the day and turns into a cozy and inviting bar scene at night.
The crowd pleasers line-up consists of the cafe's crispy chicken sandwich, kale salad and wild rice, and Abuela-worthy albóndigas (meatballs). Cocktails are known to be among the best in the city, from a simple canned beer to an exceptional Negroni.
