We recently saw on our Instagram feed that the Colombian based designer, Carlo Carrizosa took a quick trip to Tulum and stayed in one of the Riviera Maya's crown jewels, Hotel Esencia. Read his thoughts on the hotel and his overall stay below, and be sure to shop his new collection on Cooperativa.
"I really wanted to enjoy the Riviera Maya in the most peaceful and relaxing way I possibly could and I knew that Hotel Esencia offered the perfect place to do just that. The transportation to and from the hotel was absolutely state of the art -- the Hotel Esencia team takes care of all the logistics for you ahead of time, so you never miss a minute of relaxation. Though it was only for a few days, staying in a space that was designed to be a home rather than a hotel gave the guest rooms and overall hotel a very special charm, and having the beautiful Xpu-Ha beach around the corner most definitely helped. One night, we decided to venture out to Casa Malca, another hotel in the area (about 55 minutes away from Esencia) and also made an effort to enjoy the city's other gastronomic offerings. Some of my favorite places included Posada Margherita -- beyond excellent service and with the open ocean right in front was just amazing. I also really enjoyed going to Nômade Hotel, my favorite spot in all of Tulum."
